Please help!!
Hello everyone,
I have just placed an order for NTL family package. The lady over the phone said that I would also have to get thier phone line as well. When I enquired about the price for thier phone line, the lady assured me that it was completely free, I would only pay for the calls I make. However, when went to thier website, it stated that the phone line rental would be £9.50 per month. I then decided to call them back, seeking assurance that the phone line would be free. The gentleman assured me that it was. My question is, are they lying to me?

Re: Please help!!
Doubtless someone from NTL will be along to clarify, but I THINK there is currently an offer on - free phone line for 12 months. £9.50/month is the normal rate.

Re: Please help!!!
I think you will find that your phone line rental is actually included in the price of the Family TV Package that you have ordered, which means that you will not get an additional phone line rental bill.

Re: Please help!!!
They said that the total I have to pay was £19.50, i.e. the total amount for family pack.

Re: Please help!!!
Hmmm, it just doesn't make any sense. If the price of the family pack is 19.50, and I am expected to pay that amount, then where does the phone charge come in.

Re: Please help!!!
It normally costs £19.50 for line rental and base pack with £9.50 extra for fam pack totalling £29. but as you are taking the fam pack you are getting the line rental free for 12 months discounting that total by £9.50 making the total £19.50.

Re: Please help!!!
DarthYoda, if this is the case, then why would anyone ever get line rental and base pack plus family pack for £29 instead of family pack and line rental for £19. Doesn't the fmaily pack contain the base pack?

Re: Please help!!!
It's getting a bit confusing! To try to clarify - the Base Pack is £10.00 per month, NORMALLY plus a mandatory £9.50 for the phone line = £19.50. An EXTRA £9.50 (i.e. a total of £29) gets you the family pack. However, as a new customer, there is a special offer of free telephone line rental for the first twelve months only, meaning you pay £19.50 for the first twelve months, then rising to the standard £29.
