Angry Using cable box to get freeview channels?

Please forgive my ignorance but...
I have a Pace Di4000-T box which I used to use to get cable tv at my previous property. I can't get cable in my new area but I was wondering if it was possible to use the box to receive freeview channels through my analogue aerial? I have tried connecting it up but couldn't get any picture. All I get is Err12 or Err16 on the box itself & the remote doesn't do anything. Am I missing something really simple or is it just not possible?

Any ideas?

Thanks
P

Re: Using cable box to get freeview channels?

Welcome to the site.

The short answer is no, cable and over-the-air digital signals are different, and so your box won't work.

Also, you should be aware that the box is still technically the property of Telewest, and should have been returned to them when your contract ended...

Re: Using cable box to get freeview channels?

yeah thought so...never mind!

i know the box belongs to telewest - i arranged for them to pick it up 2 weeks ago but it seems they don't want it (or the broadband modem) as nobody turned up. guess i'll have to phone them...again!

thanks for the advice.
