I'll be dumping the TV service sometime next year, but will be keeping phone and BB. Can the splitter that split the coax between the STB and cable modem remain in place once the STB has been removed? Or will the splitter have to be removed as well and would the coax from the cable modem go straight into the white box on the wall?
They might, but they probably won't bother. Depends on the signal levels really. Since they're obviously already correct, removing the splitter (which will probably have a 3.5dB loss on each connection) could mean the signal level is wrong, which would have to be corrected. It's generally easier just to leave it alone!
