Re: getting a phone number blocked?

have you rang ntl and asked them , if not them then how about the police , they deal with harassment in this country so maybe they will from abroad

do u know which service provider she uses in the states? if so contact them and tell them you are getting bombarded with calls from one of their customers and they should try and get her to stop!

no ntl can't do anything abt an overseas number

to be honest it is going to be easier to get it resolved by changing your number

Re: getting a phone number blocked?

Anonymous caller rejection will stop any foreign numbers from calling to you. Unfortunately, any switchboards wouldn't be able to contact you either. It's up to you wether you want it or not. A swift call to customer services would be able to sort it out for you.

Re: getting a phone number blocked?

Many overseas calls now have CLI info with them will it still work?

Re: getting a phone number blocked?

It all depends really, unfortunately I've never experimented with it or heard from a customer regarding this during my time at NTL. I know it stops international calls, but I've never seen conclusive evidence that it works when CLI information is included.

Re: getting a phone number blocked?

ACR does not stop international calls.

They will still get through but the 1471 message states.
"We do not have the callers numbers"

The easiest way would be to change the number.

Re: getting a phone number blocked?

Quite true. ACR only blocks calls from someone who has deliberately witheld their number. International, unavailable and payphone numbers still get through:

Re: getting a phone number blocked?

You might find this website useful. Not all of the information applies as you already know whom is calling you but it does offer some useful advice about tactics to use.

The link is :- http://www.bullyonline.org/related/malcalls.htm

Hope that you find it helpful.

Re: getting a phone number blocked?

I think it is ridiculous in this day and age that phone companies can't keep a list of banned numbers for each line, and block calls from those numbers.
