My 300k Connection Acting As A 32k - Help Someone

OH MY GOD , CAN U BELIVE IT MY NTL BROADBAND SO CALLED 300K IS BEEN GOING AT SLOWER THEN MY FRIEND WHO HAS 56K.

THE RDY LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING , AND I PHONED THE TECHNICAL SERVER , WHICH DIDNT HELP MUCH AS THE FIRST PERSON TOLD ME THE SWITHC OFF MODEM AND ON THING WHICH NEVER WORKED , THEN SHE TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO REFORMAT CUZ I HAD SOME PROGRAMS NOT SUPPORTED BY NTL , THEN GUESS IT SOLVED NOTHING AND WASTED ABOUT 2 HOURS OF MY TIME , THEN I PHONED AGAIN AND A MORE ADVANCED PERSON PICKED IT UP WHO TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD SEND ME A ENGINNER , HE CAME AND THEN HE TRIED HIS BEST AND IT NEVETR WORKED SO HE GAVE ME A NEW MODEM . 3 WEEKS!!!!!!!!! AND THEN GUESS WHAT IT STILL GOES SLOWER , I PHONED THEM UP AND OVIOUSLY ANY PERSON LIKE ME WHO WOULD BE VERY ANGRY , I TOLD THE PERSON ON THE PHONE I WAS VERY ****ED OFF AND I DEMANDED THEY FIX MY CONNECTION GUESS WHAT HAPPENS , SHE/HE HANG UP, I PHONED EM AGAIN THEY GOT NO IDEA WHAT IT IS .

ANYONE HERE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS

AND ALSO HAS SOMEONE GOT THE EMAIL OF THE ONE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS , MY DADS A LAWYER AND MY MOMS ALSO A LAWYER THEY WOULD HAVE A RIGHT GOOD DAY WITH THE DIRECTOR ON THE PHONE. IF U COULD PM ME IT PLZ? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Firstly, please don't SHOUT as it makes your posts very difficult to read.

Secondly, no one's even slightly bothered by threats to get solitors on the phone. I realise you're angry, but the only way you'll get it sorted is to be calm and see if anyone can assist.

If you bellow at people, particularly when you call ntl, you'll find they'll only do the bare minimum to help you. that's human nature.

Take a chill pill and you'll get much further.

dont know what modem you have but can you browse to here 192.168.100.1 and post back the results if you can get to it

I Just did a simple test as a proper test would take too long just to point out my problem look at this . If anyone knows a more advanced tester plz tell me thxs

how are you connecting to the cable modem or stb.

ethernet, wireless or usb

Its a cable modem and its connecting with usb , i tried the ethernet but it woudnt work , i have a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC and the wire is pretty new which i got with pc but it woudnt work for some reason and also its the ambit one
My Pc is Compaq presario 3.2Ghz Intel Pentium 4 , 512MB DDr ram 120GB HARD DRIVE DVD WRITER+3/+RW 8x and NVIDIA r Geforce FX 5200 - 128MB VIDEO MEMORY. if that matters

and i did that simple test thing and that came out as
1st 128K took 6406 ms = 20461 Bytes/sec = approx 170 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 3985 ms = 32891 Bytes/sec = approx 274 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 16062 ms = 8160 Bytes/sec = approx 68 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 9750 ms = 13443 Bytes/sec = approx 112 kbits/sec

Those are crap results for a 300k connection. Have you checked the obvious things like scanning your machine for viruses etc ? Do you have P2P software running ?

Checked it , using Spy doctor and Norton anti virus 2004 and they both claimed no virus and no spy /adware and i had a private p2p on like 3 weeks ago but i unstalled it after the person on the phone told me to unstall it
