forum program / blog software or similar?

Evening all

I currently have a website with a feed in from a phpBB web board. The feed in is used to display 'news items' on my front page

(you might see them at the bottom right of the screen if the forum is working - but I bet it will not be as there are still connection problems - thats another story).

Anyway, the advantage of the set up is that if I see a news item i'm interested in I can enter it into the forum (as a post) from anywhere, and it appears as a link on the website (much like the front page of ntlhell). The problem is that the forum board is too big and complicated for what I want...

So... what do I want ? Is it a blogg or what. Even that seems a bit over the top.

I simply want a way of posting useful news items to the website without having to resort to a large board, or indeed go to the other end of the spectrum and do it in html (which means I need to keep editing the site every other day).

Anyone aware of software that will do this task?

it sounds like you might like to look at 'content manager' apps like phpWebsite & Mambo, you can use them to link to various RSS feeds

this is my small effort, so far, linking to one of the the RSS feeds for cf
