google enters censorship fray.

china is well known for its outright ambiguous censorship of the internet, previously the chinese government had banned access to google fearing that it would be showing pornography and anti government sites, but user access was restored after much public pressure, but now it seems google has succumbed to the chinese government and has introduced the censoring of sites which openly seek to show the public a diffarent side of the government and its flaws and policys.

Re: google enters censorship fray.

Sorry Kronas but I'm afraid I don't see why you have a problem with Google not providing links within a search query to sites that the end user will not be allowed to access. With the terrible amount of censorship and control in China I cannot see why you are making a fuss over this, Google is there to provide a service to internet users, it does this by listing links to websites and webpages etc that hold information relevant to the users search query.
What would the point be in Google listing hundreds of dead links that are blocked by the Chinese authorities? Yes, people should be able to view any public sites that they want but if the government of China is enforcing this censorship and actively seeking out people that ignore it then I think Google is doing the right thing.
If they were to list censored sites then surely it would only make it easier for the Chinese government to track people that access the censored materials/ sites and take action against them? The Chinese government would certainly not take their time in blocking Google again if they were to list the censored sites, at least this way the people of China still have Google available to them and therefore the necessary tools and information to help them in many different ways.
