Analogue pass-through

In the Langley region what is happening with the analogue pass-through. Is it true that on new set-top boxes there is now analogue pass-through, and you have to ask for an add on? What about future boxes like the Samsung or the Sagem??

I very much hope the analogue pass-through receives continued support as it is the only thing about ntl that I like, and what prevents me from going to Sky.

Thanks for any help.

Correction: was meant to read "there is now NO analogue pass-through"

Also could just clarify that I am talking about the analogue pass-thru on digital boxes, to allow the tuning of channels 1 to 5 + qvc by the television.

Re: Analogue pass-through

Analogue pass thru is no longer supported by NTL .... although the cable still carries the analogue signal

Thank you.
But what about an add on to the stb to enable analogue pass thru? Does it exist? How much?
Thanks!!!

Re: Analogue pass-through

There are splitters available that are placed on the main cable before it gets to the STB. Not sure of the cost, but I have 1 or two spares ... PM me with details ...

Re: Analogue pass-through

I assume all the analogue pass-thus and splitters will become obsolete in a few years time when NTL turn of the analogue signal?

Re: Analogue pass-through

As a new subscriber I've just received my NTL STB(PACE). I ran a standard RF cable from the 'TV' connection on the back of the box to a TV in my bedroom and I get all 5 analogue channels + the active cable channel. Surely then analogue pass-thru is still supported then and there is no need to split cables before they reach the STB.

Depends on area and box version .... my older Pace boxes had the passthru built in, but the newer boxes no longer have this feature.

Chances are you have been given a reconditioned box.

Re: Analogue pass-through

IIRC, ntl supply by pass filters for the newer pace boxes - just ask for one?
