Newsgroups Slow?

Anyone else getting really slow newsgroups I'm using the text server and it seems to be taking an age to download headers over the last day or so.

Re: Newsgroups Slow?

Sorry, I can't give any real help. I rarely use NTL's news server.

I've tried it just now, & it seems fine (to me).

Message headers & bodies all downloaded fairly swiftly.

Re: Newsgroups Slow?

It's been fine with me. AFAIK there's only one news server these days - news.cable.ntlworld.com

Have you checked the NTL newsgroups? That's usually the first place people comment.

Re: Newsgroups Slow?

No problems with the binary groups I use. In fact since the upgrade they have been brilliant, and there are several servers available BTW.

Re: Newsgroups Slow?

Text server has been integrated into the news array along with the binary servers, as far as I know there's no text only now.
