Not in my case - and I live in Warrington!
I had TV and broadband through an STB (Set Top Box) plus telecoms from NTL. This was because, at the time I ordered it, NTL didn't offer a stand-alone broadband service. Then NTL changed their policy and, since my 12 months was well up, I called them and switched to broadband only. They did
not remove the STB. Instead, the reconfigured it so that the televison service was restricted to channels 1 thru 7 only.
Later my STB failed and I voluntarily switched to a SACM (Stand Alone Cable Modem) - but that's another story.
