Help! Please :)

Hey.

I am an ntl user in the north west, on 600k and using a set top box.

There is a problem with my internet connection. Every so often, it simply doesn't work, although there is nothing wrong with my network connection between my computer and the STB. I repair the connection, nothing happens. Every time, I have to go downstairs and restart my STB. After one start, it sometimes works, but usually I have to restart it two or three times. When it doesn't work, I get a normal network address, like 164.365.46.3 or whatever. When it does work, I have a new internet IP address for some reason. I usually have a static.

I have not used any ntl software to set up my internet connection - I have set up the network connection manually. Here are the settings:

Installed items:
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
Qos Packet Scheduler
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

IP Properties:
Obtain an IP address automatically
DNS address: Use the following DNS addresses: 194.168.4.100,194.168.8.100

Can anyone help?
