Question NTL D4101/D405 DECT telephones

I own a D4101 DECT base with two additional D405 handsets.

One of the D405 handsets has died - will do nothing but bleep even with new batteries.

As I do not want to replace the whole system, can anybody tell me if there are any other DECT handsets that are compatiable with the D4101 base.

The original handbook mentions registering D405 handsets to other makes of base but says nothing regaring using other handsets with the D4101 base.

Any help will be much appreciated.

BJ

Hi, and

I think you should be able to register any ntl branded DECT handset to your D4101 base, but you should check with the manufacturer first to be sure. Remember that ntl branded phones aren't manufactured or supported by ntl, only branded with their name. You'll find a telephone number for the manufacturer in your phone's handbook.

Re: NTL D4101/D405 DECT telephones

The magic phrase is "GAP compatible" - if that applies to both the base and the handsets, then you should be able to use any with any, so long as they're all GAP compatible.

Re: NTL D4101/D405 DECT telephones

Thanks for the information. There is nothing in the phone handbook about it being "GAP compatible" and the help line is closed until 1st June.

There appear to be plenty of GAP compatible handsets available so I will just have wait until I can get more info on the base.

Again many thanks for replies

Just to update the position - the help line at www.albaplc.co.uk confirmed that the D4101 is GAP compatible.

However my wife got fed up with "messing about" and we have ended up with a new Philips system.
