Keane
I heard this song on the radio last week and thought "Radiohead must be bringing a new album out. A bit poppy, but that's got to be Thom Yorke singing"
Imagine my suprise when I found out that it wasn't Radiohead, but Keane.
Rip off? Copycat? or original style?

Re: Keane
i dont think he is a ripoff, the song i assume is the sameone as i heard and witnessed him sing live is actually ok, the only similarties they have is there vocal stance, they sing in a similar style because they use there throats in proberbly the same way to get there singing voice across, although i have never heard either of them in an interview........

what does it matter , as long as it is original and not just someone covering someone elses songs

I really like what I've heard of Keane so far and I don't think they're ripping anyone off. It's a style of music and any band is bound to have influences.
The album arrived from Amazon today but I've not listened to it as I'm currently obsessed with the first two tracks on the Scissor Sisters' CD. I then have to jump over their cover of Comfortably Numb, which I still hate, to get to the fourth which is a gorgeous love song. Really varied album - I wouldn't be surprised if the tracks I don't like win me over eventually.
