Re: if you could only save 3 things
Let it burn - nice big insurance claim - it's all worth much more than salvaged especially as the poilcy says "new for old". Biggest problem would be the hassle.
Do hope the insurance company isn't reading this or they might get suspicious
NB no wife or kids to worry about before you say "what about them", Oh and I wouldn't even bother with the PC backups - I lost anything worthwhile when my HD went belly up a couple of weeks ago and didn't have backups

Hassle, you wouldn't believe the hassle the insurance company's give you, ours tried to haggle over the price of bed linen And then after that you've got 10 years of other insurance companies not wanting to touch you (oh and sky high premiums).

Re: if you could only save 3 things
Excluding the obvious family.
1.My Household documents folder ( with all the insurance & endowment policies, passports, driving licence, etc in it)
2.Car keys
3.A clean pair of underpants.
Did I mention I used to be a Boy Scout.
