Intel offering faster chips ?

Intel is pushing forward development of faster computer chips, the company says it hopes to release the 'twin chips' on one peice of silicon by 2005 and is scrapping plans for a new version of the pentium 4 and xeon proccessors so it can focus on the new chip which is claimed to produce less heat then current chips.

Re: Intel offering faster chips ?

Hehe, by then AMD will have the 128 Bit Athlon FX256 out. :pp

Sorry, but I think Intel have shown themselves to be behind the times, "panicking" and just overpriced these days, especially since that latest news.
The bottom line is: if you want the ultimate in performance and future-proofing then you buy an AMD Athlon 64/Athlon 64 FX.

Re: Intel offering faster chips ?

Well I obviously can't provide raw data for the new Intel chips but check out the fastest AMD chip, the FX53 versus the fastest Intel chip, the 3.2 Extreme Edition: (keep on clicking next for more benchmarks)
