No Web Space ???
Hi All,
I've just got my 300k broadband and it's Great  . However I understand I should have some web space at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.swan220 I've tried going to the address and ftp' ing it but I can't see it.
Any thoughts, Cheers, Not all that spaced out really!!

it needs to have a file called index.htm or index.html in the root directory

Try ftp://username@upload.ntlworld.com/ putting your username in instead of the word.

So for me this is ftp://david.swan220@upload.ntlworld.com? I still get "Cannot find server or DNS Error" my ntl email account is fine and normal internet browsing is ok.

Might be your fire wall, turn it off and try again. I think for some firewall you need to put in the server's address as "friends" before it allows you FTP, I think I read a post somewhere in this forum.

Hi any more thoughts, ie6 just says I may not have rights to view these pages. I tried the terrapin ftp program to see if that makes any different. It just said the server dropped my connection and that I may not have authority to connect to this server. Having the firewall on or off made no difference, but thanks that was a good idea can I rename my ftp address to see if it helps?
