Unhappy Upload Speeds

Hi, I've been having loads of trouble uploading any kind of files or even sending emails.Incoming is fine but anything going out takes forever or doesnt upload.Tried to email ntl and got the reply we allow uploads to 7.5ks,which doesnt help me at all.I know its definately the connect but I dunt know if there is anything i can do about it.Can someone surgest something please? Cheers

uploading at 7.5KB/s is pretty normal for the 150kbps service for £17.99 a month, is this what you have?

can you download at 600kbps (75KB/s)?
uploading to your ntl webspace is usually a good test, and should be done at about 128kbps (16Kb/s).

i can download easy enough, no problems there but the uploading will only go to about 4 or 5kbs if that and shake it wont hold steady.uploading to ntls webspace got upto 4.5 kbs

only thing that springs to mind is something else on your machine/network is uploading. i recommend downloading dumeter from www.dumeter.com and just watch what is actually being transfered.

everything looks fine, i can't think of anything that would result in a slow upload like that i'm afraid.

ok its a stb and i use ethernet,doesnt matter if im downloading or not and its anytime,all tho i've notice if i turn my comp off for awhile,say ova night i get a better upload speed.I have just changed ova to a proxy server last night and the speed has improved but still only gettin 4 kbs ish which aint great but better than before
