South Asia World to cease broadcasts

South Asia World ( SAW ) is ceasing broadcast from midnight tomorrow.

South Asia World was initially launched by Television Eighteen founder Ravi Bahl in the US two years ago.

The channel was then launched in the UK on Sky and then on Telewest ( Ch. 820 ) last year by ZEE Network.

According to ZEE Network officials, the channel's US feed is being discontinued which will also result in the UK channel ceasing broadcasts at the same time.

South Asia World has relayed sister station CNN IBN from India for the past year. There are no immediate plans to launch CNN IBN independently in the UK.
