STB Connectivity

Hi Guys,
my friend is an user of NTL PACE STB. His connection was down for the past 15 days. After several phone calls to NTL Tech Support they sent a technicial out. He got the computer upto the STB registration page. After the registration was complete my friend did a Rel/Ren IP and the computer got stuck on Limited or no connectivity. We tried all the things we could. My friend then talked to NTL Tech Support and after 30 min of techning my friend was adviced that its a PC issue. can anyone help me with this.

Re: STB Connectivity

What is your friends hardware setup? What operating system is he/ she running, are any firewalls running, how is the PC connected to STB? (Ethernet or USB).
Why did your friend renew his IP after registering?

Re: STB Connectivity

Win Xp, Enet connection. On a STB before registration the IP is 10.x.x.x. With this IP only the registration page can be viewed. So after registration IP should be released to get a valid IP.
