friction

ok i did not know where to stick this so if its wrong sorry mods

being a much happier kronas i decided to take a trip out meet my freinds had a laugh etc

got in to some serious discussing though........

it all stemmed from a previous conversation about womens rights to work i argued women should wear what they want, work where they want, and talk to who they want.

i also mentioned companies do have dress codes

now this seemed to go against the grain of there 'lifestyle' if your a women you must cover up adequatley, wearing a head scarf, and traditional asian clothing, no makeup, must not talk to males or make aquantences with them.

but can work as long as they are dressed as mentioned above and in a female secular area

they are also freely allowed to do any degree they wish uni or college if successful pursue the career of there choice

obviously i am very much against the secular part of the argument i am also against the idea of non socialistic activitys with the opposite sex or not being allowed to wear what women want

the reason i was given for those beliefs was because they were safeguards against the creation of a relationship which may turn sexual with a man

if a women has sex with a man outside of marriage with a stranger then the women is automatically disowned the man gets away scot free

it was considered a family dishonournment if it was pointed out in the street that 'i slept with that women' etc ............

i totally disagree with all the statements i put forward on behalf of them (in bold) i live in the western world and have been brought up in the western enviroment and so if my views differ im apparently wrong

Each side has it's advantages:

One, men work undistracted and women don't get pregnant early

The other being fairness and freedom

If you are an atheist you could say that neither view is wrong it just depends on your opinion.

Re: friction

Okay Kronas,

Let me put a situation to you which is true..

A friends 18 year old daughter constantly wore low cut tops...Now she has very large breasts 44+ DD ...........The problem for me is I found it totally uncomfortable to be in the precence of someone showing nearly a quarter of their body weight...

Now the girl in question is 21, she dresses respectably without exposing her chest at every given opportunity, and it makes for a better family life...

Now you may say the problem is with me but is it?

I find low cut tops, with any women hanging out discomforting.... and I certainly wouldn't want to be walking around with them....

Sure I enjoy topless wwomen like probably all males... but in the right envronment...

If I were to rip of the back panel of my jeans and expose my arse in full and came to your house all freindly like and we went out, had dinner, shopping whatever, met your parents, friends and so forth... How would you feel?

Would you be comfortable with it?

heehee not at all ... in fact, much of what Christian 'fundamentalists' (largely in the USA but often in the UK too) see as 'Biblically correct' gender roles for men and women are merely roles that have persisted in society at large in any case, and not because of any explicit Bible teaching. The good book does lay out some differences between men and women but it doesn't say women can't wear trousers and work in an office.

In many of the cultures depicted in the Bible, the women arguably worked much harder than the men, bringing up the children and working in the fields, while the men sat at the city gate chewing over the political issues of the day.

A bit like nthellworld, really.

the way i see it is the way you are brought up in the enviroment will mould your attitude in life you must make your own decisions when it comes to relationships dress sense attitude etc if you make mistakes then it is your problem

but i dont see why you should have the draconian like restrictions not wearing what you want doing what you want its your life

i was more leaning towards the method of freedom and individulity being a person who likes to do the right thing dress his own way style and thinking regime i am very much against a dictatorship in telling others to do this and that you have a brain use it

I'll type this post slowly as women and relationships are one of the few things I don't pretend to understand

But I would have thought that wearing revealing clothes is suppose to attract attention - I don't know but I would'nt have thought they were comfy or warm.
[walking on ice] But then I don't understand why women moan that men are only intested in looks - men tend not to wear makeup and many don't style their hair. [ice cracking] and then women criticise each other for looking too 'slutty' - I think this makes women the 'shallow' sex [falls in icey water]

Ok that maybe a generalisation, but I've been present at many 'all men are pigs discussions' (for some reason I don't apply to this rule - I never know whether I should be pleased or insulted )

I'll get my coat [img]Download Failed (1)[/img]

I guess it will stop when companies want to neuter their male employees to ensure a full days work.

Re: friction

In will tread carefully here only last time I posted what I know it is like for friends of mine I got a red rep .. I only posted my true knowledge from friends..

OK Here goes.. I had a really good friend who wanted to break the mode for her dress code. She was beaten by her elders and gave up fighting. She did change from that day she became quieter and joined us as a group less. Then she said she was going to her parentââ‚Ã⠀šÃ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s homeland for a visit to see relations and to find out more about her roots. She said she would be back in 6 months max. I never heard from her again she never returned with her parents and they only said that she had decided to stay...

Please no more red reps its only a true story if a dear friend I knew, someone I have lost for ever. She wasn't bad she was a really intelligent kind girl..

a sad case indeed but one which does not shock me once a person starts to get a little 'loose' or breaks the 'mould' then you will get shipped off to your 'homeland' and most proberbly get married against your will

everything is predetermend to happen you follow a certain path of what you wear if you break it and your family follows the proper tradition then you wil see the backlash

you go out at night with your freinds to a pub club your parents will punish you even thugh you may have not drunk a drop of alcohol

hanging around with guys thats a very big no no because you might have sex with one then another or maybe a third

YOU are control of what YOU do no one else why should i or indeed anyone be subjected a false sense of the world I live in
