ADSL on redcare line

We have a redcare alarm line at home and was wondering if ADSL will work on it. From what I know, I think the line is split in 2 so we have a normal phone line plus a redcare line (I think this is correct), would it even be possible to get adsl on a line which has red care or would we need a another line?

Cheers

Re: ADSL on redcare line

Who provides the Phone Line itself, BT?

Re: ADSL on redcare line

Just had a quick Google and it seems you can. Still wouldn't hurt to phone BT and double check.

Re: ADSL on redcare line

Yes it can be provided, Redcare is just an alert system on the line so ADSL will function with it no problem. Make sure you make them aware that it is a Redcare status line so they can take the obvious precautions when they have to work on the line to provide it and everything will be ok.

Yes it will work but get ready for some intermittant connection issues if you are any distance from your exchange.

Is that a specific issue with RedCare you know about ot just a general dig at ADSL?

Re: ADSL on redcare line

It's an issue with Redcare lines being used for ADSL I'm afraid.
