Problems in erskine area

Anyone having problems in and around Erskine area?? I'm seeing high pings on most uk based games servers. To me it looks like a problem around Manchester anyone else having problems? I can download at full speed from MS site no problems yet on others (obv taking a diff route) speeds are under 30Kb/s

I'm on 2 Mbit service.

Thanks

Hey,

I'm the same - having serious issues playing on BF2 servers - pings are very high however I seem to be able to surf the internet as normal.

I'm in Glasgow near Hampden, I'd imagine we're both connected to the Renfrew proxy server.

It's gotten worse even today, I can't play anything online.

Re: Problems in erskine area

this is the first day I've noticed it. Was fine last night

I was on a german bf2 server earlier today and it was pinging lower than uk based ones. Got a feeling something on the networks fallen over today.

I tried German, French, US and UK servers, they were all a bit different but there's definitely a poor connection somewhere.

Pings from 300-500+ ms at best. Admins booting me for high pings constantly.

Re: Problems in erskine area

Yeah, same problems here too. I'm in County Durham, and having major latency issues playing World of Warcraft, getting pings 500+
I agree, it seems like the problem is in the Manchester area. Everything is fine on a tracert until I hit hop 8, then I get this...

8 212 ms 200 ms 205 ms man-bb-b-ae0-0.inet.ntl.com [62.253.187.178]

...nasty

Been on to tech support, and spoke to a woman in India. She took the MAC address of my modem, and asked me to reboot in safe mode. Once I did this, she then told me that there is a known issue with high latency's, slow downloading and internet browsing at the moment, but unfortunatley she is was unable to give any sort of time frame as to when it will be resolved (the usual).
Internet browsing is fine, downloading seems to be ok also.

I just hope they sort this out soon.

Been having the same problem in the Paisley area. Most BF2 servers have jumped to over 300. Servers which were at about 70 last night.

Re: Problems in erskine area

Yeah, BF2 has become unplayable due to it, too much lagging.

Bleh.

When are they going to fix it?
