Re: BT targets broadband hogs
Yeah BT's adsl is massive spin.
2000 - unlimited 512kbit 160 gig traffic, this carried on upto 1 meg (320 gig) and for a while 2 meg.
then we see bt wholesale price changes and suddenly for a short time it seems we have massive freebies 2meg for under £20 etc but it soon hits the isp's with new charges penalising for high traffic customers.
today - 2meg capped 30gig 40gig 50gig? diff for each isp, zen honouring oldskool contracts of 2meg unmetered are we getting more for money?
soon to come - adsl max 8mbit capped again are we getting more for money, so far no ipstream isp has a 8mbit unmetered package that is unshaped. max burst speed is dependant on line quality/distance and contention, many will see no speed increases but feel the new caps which are the tradeoff for the higher speeds. zen have ceased their 2mbit unmetered to new customers.
