Anyone else still paying £15 for 512kb?

Hey all,

Still awaiting any news of an upgrade down here in Plymouth. Is anyone else frustrated at the lack of information about when upgrades will be completed?

Although judging by some of the posts maybe the upgrades aren't as good as they could be?

I can't understand why they can't just put people on 512kb onto 2mb anyway as they obviously have the capability. Surely only 10mb is where they need to do work?

512K ??

As far as I was aware, that no longer existed (other than as the "naughty boy" tier).

you want 2mb for £15. in an ideal world broadband would be free, but its not. if you got the 2mb it would be cheaper than the 1mb sevice

TW never had a naughty boy tier.

Some areas, ex-Eurobell, still have 512k I believe.

Re: Anyone else still paying £15 for 512kb?

Ring em and moan, moan moan. I just get off the phone to them with a free upgrade from the 1Mbps (soon to be 4Mbps), to a 4Mbps and still only paying £25pm. I stated that if they offer a 4Mbps service and I am paying for an Up-To 4Mbps service, why could they not provide me with the service I am paying for? 1 5 minute phone call = 4x speed.

16 year old impatience

Quite a few are still stuck on the pre-upgrade levels around the country still, nothing personal.

£14.99 is hardly extortionate for 512k, it's bloody good to be honest. Isn't Telewest's 2Mbit a bit more than £15 a month?

Yup it's £18 a month without special offer for the 2Mbit, you guys have that offer?

Re: Anyone else still paying £15 for 512kb?

Telewest are doing 2Mbps for £14.99 1st 3 then £17.99 after. I would pay the extra 3 quid and get a decent speed. I got the TV, Phone & Broadband for £35 for the 1st year. Works out that I am saving about a fiver a month over mt BT phone/bb and i get the TV for nout. I hab 2Mbps capped with BT for £17.99p m and always exeeded my limit, but never payed more than £10 or so extra. So it was actully working out cheaper than BY Elite. I only switched cause of the 4Mbps.

if you get broadband via set top box ask them to change to a cable modem.
The updates for Devon start in Feb with Exeter on the 10th.

Re: Anyone else still paying £15 for 512kb?

Just to let you know upgrades are done all the time. Means nothing.

When my area had the disruption it was down for 2 hours. Not 15 minutes and 30 minutes.

And Telewest CS dont know anything more then we do about the upgrades. They get the info from the same page as we look at

Oh and just to point out. If that was your network disruptions

It would be on here

No there not Telewests 2MB service is £14.99 for the first 12 months well mine is neway cos im a current 512kb/s customer and my deal was that i got a 512kb/s for £14.99 then soon it will be upgraded to a 2MB at no extra cost and the price does not change to £14.99 for the first 3 months thehn £17.99.

It stays at the original price it was orded at.
