Connecting IMac G5

Hello All, need help! just purchased my very first mac, imac g5. But having problems getting my NTL broadband to work. Connected to the cable modem via a cat5 cable.

As i am new to the mac im using the network setup assistant, my settings are set to DHCP and Built in ethernet.

On the wizard it asks if i want " DHCP Client" but i need a client id? or if i connect via PPPoE, and needs account name, password etc. no success either way!

Anybody out the kind enough to talk me through this?

Many Thanks in advance
Mick

PS I would have used the CD provided by NTL had it worked!

Re: Connecting IMac G5

Are you already using ntl broadband with another computer? If so have you powered off the modem, unplugged the old computer's network cables, before plugging in the mac, and only then powering on the modem again before powering up the mac?

No, the client ID is optional. You don't need to enter it.
