website counter/stats

I am looking for some way to add a counter/stats to my website it's not on ntl's servers so scripts etc are not a problem. googles search results give a somewhat overwhelming choice, so has anybody got any personal recommended favourites or suggestions?

thanks

If you have PHP

http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ers/index.html

or ASP

http://www.hotscripts.com/ASP/Script...ers/index.html

or Perl

http://www.hotscripts.com/CGI_and_Pe...ers/index.html

There are also sections for Web Traffic Analysis, just head up a couple of subdirectories and browse around.
