a theory

Well i have a theory, we already know that plugging a cable line into an analogue television with an analouge tuner gives us the unencrypted chanells, but what if we did the same with one with a digital tuner?
Would it be the same, or would it recive digital chanells?

Re: a theory

It might work, it might not, but if it is unencrypted, it would be anaolgue not digital, since digital by very nature needs decoding.

Bear in mind that, while in some areas you can simply connect a TV direct to the cable for the unencryped TV terrestrial channels, this is a hang over from the older cable networks. Plugging anything other than A STB into the ntl cable feed, has potential to degrade your own cable services, and those of your neighbours.

TV's with digital tuners are designed to receive Terrestrial digital channels (DVB-T). Connecting the ntl cable feed to it would not allow you view the digital cable channels (DVB-C). Although they are both digital, they use different modulation systems.
