These power levels normal?

Downstream recieve power level -4.1 dBmV
Upstream transmit power level 43.0 dBmV

this is on a ntl 250 modem

the downstream seems very low to me... I am in belfast which is rumoured to not have the network upgrade yet could that be the cause?

Re: These power levels normal?

Seems alright to me - it's not perfect, but it's perfectly workable. My downstream's around -7 dBmV and is always fine.

(It's nice to stay within +2.5 dBmV to -2.5dBmV, but the actual limits are much wider than that.)

Re: These power levels normal?

There's a sticky at the top of this section about cable modem signal levels:-
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=26006

Also Robin Walker's site is an excellent source of info about cable modems:-
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d...ps/signal.html

My DS power level is around -5.3dBmV, but my US power level is flat out at 61dBmV.
