Question re: 10meg d/l speeds

OK, Using a standard download accelerator, when I was on 1.5mg I got speeds of 130kb/s 95% of the time.

When I upgraded to 4mg, I got average d/l's of 430kb/s.

Now im on 10, the average seems to be like 550kb/s.. would you consider this normal????

Whats everyone elses like?

It is likely that many sources will not upload to you as fast as you can download, but getting 550kb/s is still rather a nice speed

if you download from a number of sources at the same time do you get nearer 1000kB/s?

Re: Question re: 10meg d/l speeds

Yeah its multiple sources

It just seemed strange that when I went from 4 to 10 down, the actual dl speed only increased by 100kbs.... coupled with the fact I get connection trouble regularly now when I try and connect

hmm.... anyone think telewest might have upgraded customers before they had a network that could handle it....

sounds a lot like the symptoms over oversubscription to me.
