The last two providers offered true end-to-end encryption, at a cost of about €3/4 per month. Sounds good… but the catch is that to use their end-to-end encryption you’re forced to use their apps (or, on macOS, run a background “bridge”).
That’s a no go for me, because I love Apple’s Mail app on macOS and iOS, it just works perfectly for my needs, and I don’t want to give that up.
Quote:
The script excludes the All Mail folder" using: --exclude "\[Gmail\]/All Mail" \
This to avoid duplicate emails already present in the folders, I also merged the [Imap]/Archive folder into the general Archive folder using: --regextrans2 "s/\[Imap\]\/Archive/Archive/"
This because Apple’s Mail app creates the [Imap]/Archive folder/label on Gmail whenever you use the “Archive” function instead of “Trash.”

Most people avoid it because of privacy concerns. However many are unaware that email is not private and was not created for that purpose, regardless of the providers.

Re: Away from Gmail
No idea who the geek is, or what he does, but if he's that concerned about Email privacy he shouldn't be anywhere near the internet.
Page just looks like an advert for Mailbox.org too

Re: Away from Gmail
The email address shown in the actual blog post isn't a very good advert for either privacy or Mailbox.org.
If a person is so concerned about privacy why do they let the whole world see their actual email address on their blog page?
Running that email address via https://email-checker.net/ provides a Bad result which when checked further using https://check.spamhaus.org/results/?...92ff:feeb:f508 shows that the actual email address is either misconfigured, or insecure, compromised, or infected
