				Season 2024/2025

We dont seem to have a topic for the new season yet, so here we go.
I had to record this, a win for Forest at Anfield, the first since the late 1960's I believe.

They didn't have a sniff and we hit them on the break. Absolute masterclass.

Impressive that is your only defeat with a new manager. I get the impression he hasn't changed a lot which hasn't disrupted the squad.

True, but thats only because others have not played yet.
Even so, if all those below won, we would still be 8th again.

Another good performance, and win.
We're almost 50% of the way to having enough points for relegation survival.
(And the teams at the bottom look doomed already, bottom four have not won a game between them).

To go back to 8th, Brighton, Chelsea and Spurs have to win
Brighton play Wolves at 3, who only have 1 point so far (hmm) but are surely better than that
Chelsea play Newcastle tomorrow
As do Spurs vs Palace (who are also better than where they are).

The bottom 4 clearly can't keep up the record of not winning at all much longer, they will be doomed if they do, and I guess on a technicality they can , but it's unlikely to happen.

And though it's not likely to end that way, all of those matches are losable for the team behind us, meaning we could stay there by the end of the weekend.

We have 16 points after 9 games, as you say about halfway there, staying up has to still be the main objective and a bad run can see you drop (or a points deduction). It means we have 29 games to get as many again. Of course we're yet to play Arsenal, Spurs, either Manchester club or Newcastle and have only (of the big sides) met Chelsea and Liverpool yet. There are bound to be a few more losses in there and maybe a few heavy ones (especially if we hit a certain former player's son in a good mood) and likely a few reversals to other teams as well. But the bottom 3 need a lot of points too as well so that's not going to happen really or at least isn't likely to.

Leicester seem to be doing fine too as they have 9 from 9 which is usually enough to stay up.

Brighton didnt need to win, a draw put them above us, on 'Goals Scored'.
As long as we keep picking up points, we're going to be fine.
The bottom teams look poor, and the gap between us and them is already 13 points.

Lucky point gained for Arsenal.

 | Pre game I was expecting a win but thought it was pretty even really, either side could have won. Never happy to drop two points but think the result was a fair reflection of the game overall.

 | Liverpool won't win the title but we will be in the top four.

We are in the transition stage in my view.
