U.S: Controversial Shootings
I'm not going to post links to the more graphic footage of these two events but from what I've seen of it the circumstances are horrific. What's more is there seems to be no attempt being made by anyone to assist the victims despite it being pretty obvious that they're no longer much of a threat, if indeed they ever were.

I can fully understand why the police in the US are armed but I'm afraid some of them seem to be out of control and far to easily resort to deadly force.

Re: Police kill 2 more black people in the states...
Well, they (The US cops) can kill a man even without guns by placing him in to a choke hold, a method that was banned from use and there was not even guns used in that incident.
I also remember only last year, Police in LA? Shot a tramp with mental health problems dead and the cops claimed he reached for their gun. What was even more disturbing about that, was that I saw, with my own eyes from the video footage of the cops handcuffing the dead man so he was not even allowed to die with dignity, he was quite clearly dead, has he had been shot multiple times.

This is all down to racism. and that the psychopathic cops are scared of their own shadows. and firing a gun helps alleviate their fears.

That's just the thing, racism and bad gun dependence, it's a lethal mix.

Re: Police kill 2 more black people in the states...
If anyone thinks more guns is the answer to this they must be insane. In both cases it was the fear that the victim had a weapon which led to them being shot. Less guns, less readily available and better trained police has to be the only way forward.
The Yanks really do need to wake up and realise the Wild West is something which should be confined to Hollywood.
Meanwhile, 4 police shot dead in Dallas in revenge attacks.

Sadly like many others this does not surprise me one bit and sadly like others l suspect we will be talking about the next horrific event in pretty quick time one imagines as it never seems to end.

Anti-police/pro shoot the police backlash on Twitter
Quote:
Twitter’s terms of service explicitly forbids “threats of violence” and any tweets that “promote violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism.” The company also bans use the platform for the “furtherance of illegal activities.” Yet, so far, the platform has taken no action against accounts promoting violence against the police

It appears that Twitters rules only apply to some. Shocking

Re: U.S: Controversial Shootings
I've only recently managed to get Twitter right for years i kept calling it budgie much to the amusement of my daughter and having spent a good half hour on it I have quite a few other less pleasant names for it some extremely unpleasant people on that thing. Much like Facebook I find that mostly unpleasant and between them they have caused me to question the wisdom of free speech as there are clearly many who don't deserve that right or understand how to exercise it responsibly.

Re: U.S: Controversial Shootings
It always strikes me as highly ironic that some of the most hateful people out there are those who spend a good deal of their lives denouncing the 'hatred' they accuse others of.
They target certain politicians, for example, as nasty, racists or whatever and then threaten to rape or murder them. The likes of Twitter simply gives them the opportunity to spread their bile further afield.

Re: U.S: Controversial Shootings
Yep shooting innocent police officers is always the right answer. Making someone else suffer for the actions of another. Its an eye for an eye with a horrible swerve.
