Area Codes

Hi all,

Just a quick query.

What are the VM area codes and what is the their geographic definition? I am in Warrington and have area 20 on my bill. Yet on other forums area 20 seems to spread all over the country.

Cheers

Re: Area Codes

Billing Area Codes come from a variety of different places, some correspond to geographical areas whilst others correspond to old cable companies billing systems transferred to Virgin Media's current one.

In general there is no real need to understand what Area code is where, as they exist more for Virgin Media system reasons that impact to a customer. Saying that, Area 20 denotes that your area was at one time run by Nynex.

Re: Area Codes

Ah OK, That makes more sense than the wierd geographic picture I was getting in my head based on postcodes of folk who are in area 20.

I did have a Jerrold analogue box back in the Nynex days Due to the current problems I am having with poor service I have never been closer to leaving the cable fold. Against my better judgement I should add.
