1and1 new gTLD hosting

Recently I bought a new .WTF gTLD and thought it would be a simple matter of hosting it on my 1and1 hosting account.. gawd was I wrong..

1and1 do not support any new style domains on their accounts as an external domain. I presume it's a restriction on their proprietary software that they use instead of C-panel.

No word from 1and1 when their hosting will support the new domains of which they are quite happy to sell you after many customers asking via their own support forums for the past 9+ months

In the mean time the domain is hosted on an instance of Amazon Web Services (AWS) which I think might actually be faster than 1and1 and free for the first year if you have the knowledge to set one up)

Inflexible programming perhaps. Plus C-Panel costs money, lots of it.

It's what I thought.

Their tech support just gave the usual "not supported" excuse with no info as to an possible future fix. The official persons on their forum gives a standard "we'll pass it on" excuse.

Mind you AWS is quite good with their cloud instance so might look at costs for transferring all my sites across to them on a more European server.
