Paramedic sentenced for failure of duty.

Quote:
A paramedic has been sentenced for failing in his duty after the death of a man who collapsed outside a hospital.

Carl Cope, 47, died from a heart attack after suffering chest pains near the A&E department at Walsall's Manor Hospital in June 2012.

Matthew Geary, 36, from Manor Avenue, Great Wyrley, Staffordshire, admitted failing to discharge a duty.

He was given an eight-month jail term, suspended for two years.

I can't help thinking that there must be more to this than meets the eye but even so it appears to be an exceptionally callous act.

Re: Paramedic sentenced for failure of duty.

It's a bit of a 2 way thing really....even out and about in public if you have medical training and don't assist someone you can be done for it...at the same time if something goes wrong and it's your fault you can be done for it.

I suppose you only have the papers to go on but I agree there seems to be something more to this
