I just received a letter from VM trying to sell this package.

QUESTION

Is there really any difference between this and the VIP package I'm already on? Are they actually intending on scrapping the VIP bundle?

What differences it has depend on which version of the VIP bundle you are on.

However the main change apart from the name compared to the last version of the VIP Collection is that it no longer includes the second STB by default.

Ben - I'm on the original VIP bundle with a V+ box and a VHD box though I believe I am entitled to a Tivo 1TB box if I opted for it. My BB is meant to be 120MB and had a letter stating the increase sometime in August.

As I am thinking of moving was wondering if I needed to sign a new contract for any reason would be liable for any unexpired contract time?

If you moved up to the Big Daddy bundle it would just reset the contract - you wouldn't have to pay out of your existing one.

Remember to add £6.50 to the cost of Big Daddy for the additional box, but it's likely still going to be cheaper than what you are paying now.

Also you could swap out the V HD box for TiVo and getting them to move the V+ HD box so you end up with two recordable boxes - it wouldn't be any more expensive than having TiVo and the V HD box.

Big daddy usually works out cheaper than vip.
