Any ideas why my Netflix via is no longer showing in HD?
Signed up for Netflix yesterday. Started watching a film yesterday which has the grey HD symbol after the title. Sure enough after a few seconds of buffering it was a quality picture.
Today I go back to watch the rest of it and now only showing in SD - picture looks diabolical on my 42" TV. Tried another couple of things and they're only showing in SD too - some in 240SD!!
Been on the Netflix website and changed setting from automatic picture quality to High but no difference. HD is working on normal TV channels.
Any ideas?

Doesn't Netflix downgrade the quality based on how it thinks your broadband is performing?
Anything else downloading in the background or something like that? Hope for your sake it's not one of those VM congestion problems!

I've had similar issue found if I stop play then start again it sometimes fixes itself,but it's very annoying

If you only recently signed up did you go for the cheapest £5.99 option? If so, this price doesn't include any HD. You have to choose the next one up at £6.99 to get HD and Super HD.

Problem ended up fixing itself. First tried it at 10pm, does Netflix suffer at peak times cos the picture via my laptop was garbage too? Got the superhub and never noticed slowdown before even if whole family using internet.
If anyone gets this problem with Netflix what I did was press play then paused it for a minute like you would if you're buffering a por...ahem...YouTube video, but might just be coincidence as that was an hour after I started fannying about with it.

It was both TiVo and laptop that had picture problems. Watched the TiVo Netflix early this morning and picture was perfect.
Possibly just one of those temporary glitches you sometimes get.

While messing I saw somewhere £5.99 is for SD only now £6.99 HD and streaming dunno if I dreamt it though lol
