Trash recovered by error!

Has anybody else had their TiVo trash recovered into their inbox after switching off their TiVo box by mistake while it was in the middle of recording a programme?

---------- Post added at 20:44 ---------- Previous post was at 19:36 ----------

Wow my favourite channels were even deleted, I have just needed to reset them! I also got a TiVo message M60 subject Show Info Running Out

Re: Trash recovered by error!

That's not good. I suggest you do a "Clear Programme Info & Planned Recs" from the Reset menu. It'll take about 5 minutes to clear, then a couple of hours to rebuild the database.

Could this have anything to do with the recovered trash programmes as the hard drive got to 99% full. I have now permanently deleted these recordings and the hard drive is now down to 10% do I still need to do the above, if yes does that mean I have to recreate series links and future recorded shows?

Re: Trash recovered by error!

The full drive may have been a contributing factor. I'd still recommend the CPI&PR to recreate the programme guide database from scratch. Despite the name, you won't lose series links.

Thanks for the advice SP and will give it a go, it seems that switching off the TiVo box by mistake while recording has caused a whole lot of issues to the database

TiVo is recording all the time anyway, and usually it copes fine with being powered off. You've just been unlucky.

Re: Trash recovered by error!

<random thought> Wish it was possible to sync the series links, wishlists etc to my laptop. Ended up with a new Tivo a bit ago and re-inputting the dang things took ages and not having all the thumbs down resulted in a shed load of programs that I wasn't interested in.

There is, you just didn't know about it unfortunately. For future reference though http://help.virginmedia.com/system/v...7-CFD25C0F5152

Does it have the facility to continue without mains power for a short time, in case of electricity outages?

What? You mean you don't have a UPS on your TiVo?

Botheration, wish I had known that I could do that. Thanks for the link Ben, bookmarked just in case I need to swap my Tivo again.

Pity it won't duplicate your recordings also!
