Distributing Tivo AND RF Signal

Hello all

this is my first post as a new member.

I've just put sky on notice and will be moving to Virgin in a few weeks for TV, broadband and phone.

Currently I have my sky+ hd box set up so that it sends a powered RF out to a box that distributes the signal to 4 other TVs in the house. I have only just realised that the tivo box has no RF out (powered or otherwise) and I'd appreciate some advice.

I've seen from other posts that I can send the tivo signal using a scart to RF converter signal to the other TVs but that still leaves me with another problem which is that my sky box also has an external aeriel signal which is also distributed to the other TVs (in bedrooms) so that they can pick up signal for freeview - they are only sometimes used to watch the current sky program if one of the son's wants to watch sports.

Does anyone know how I might send both the Tivo AND the RF signal to the other TVs so that they can tune into freeview and see the current virgin programme?

Thanks in advance for any help.

This RF converter (and probably others as well) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Sc.../dp/B000M6SMKW has both a Scart in and RF in, so you can combine both a Freeview aerial signal and the TiVo scart output (once you've found a spare RF channel for it)

BenMcr

thanks for the quick reply! Having taken a look at that it actually says it has one SCART or Phono video signals - not SCART AND RF signals.

Do you know from experience that this will do the job?

The one from Amazon will work OK. It has an RF loopthrough & a Scart loopthrough as well. Been using one with my V+ box for years. Very good buy.

Re: Distributing Tivo AND RF Signal

A bit late but might be handy for someone.

I have the HDMI connected to my main HD 3D Tv and the scart output connected to this Universal Scart to Coax convertor which outputs to the Global Invacom TV link (and another rf booster/splitter) which connects up to my bedroom via the old cable previously used for the Sky+ second output. HDMI and SCART do both work at the same time and I have the freeview signal going to the main TV rf, the kitchen tv and three televisons upstairs via another booster splitter. I can even change the tivo channel from the bedroom using the old sky+ tv link adaptor. I've had my tivo about 9 months so unless Virgin has disabled something recently then you need to try again.
I do get a message saying there is no HDMI output if the main hdmi connected TV is turned off but that clears by pressing ok. The scart and hdmi work independently. One person can watch the tivo on the bedroom tv and another can watch freeview on the main tv and vice versa.

My next project is to try to use the rca outputs on the convertor to connect to a Slingbox but I have to allow time for the Mrs to get used to the other wires etc. first!
