Gap Insurance
Hello
Just wanted to ask advice about Gap Insurance, whether its worth it or not?
I pick up my new car at the end of this week which cost £6k, the vauxhall garage offered it to me for £399 but i have since sourced a company called ALA which offers it to me for about £129.
I only do about 4k miles (or less per year) so wondered if it was worth it or not to get it out? They also offer other stuff too, eg scratch repair, alloy wheels protection, but not sure what the excess is, would have to look into that.
thanks in advance

Re: Gap Insurance
I've never used it myself, but you might find this info useful.

Re: Gap Insurance
When I buy cars I usually take it out. An example is when I sold my last car (2.5 yearsish old) the money I got for the car (at a local dealership) would not have covered the outstanding loan I had on the car. (Fortunately the dealership did me a deal).
However, if my car had bee written off the chances are the insurance company would not have done that, which means had the worst happen I could have had a car worth less than the outstanding loan.

Re: Gap Insurance
It's one of those things you would only be grateful of if your car was written off. I also got a quote for £399 for three years (was it a Ford garage?) But for £411 through ALA I got FOUR year GAP and three years tyre insurance - with tyres costing £150 each I think that's good value

Go with the AA mate, I've had several through the AA and they're on the money.
