Angry TIVO box going wild on record

Its sending me wild!

I have used the record only at particular times and never for recording a series, but the box suddenly started to record several series without being instructed to do so.
My drive is now getting filled with trash I have never wanted

I have tried deleting everything but it seems to take so long. Is there a quick was to delete it all?

How can I remove any "repeat" instructions there may be held in the box's memory?

Re: TIVO box going wild on record

To delete a whole series, highlight the one you want to delete, press clear then delete group and all that show will be deleted.

To change recording settings for shows, you will need to do Home>Shows & Recordings?Manage series links and then go through each one to make sure new only is set.

But then reading back, it seems that suggestions is on so you will need to disable suggestions being recorded. Home>Settings?Recordings>Suggestions (if I remember it right, not done the menu for a while) and then you can disable suggestions. You can delete the whole suggestions folder by the tip I gave above for removing a whole series.

Don't worry about deleting them from deleted shows though, it doesn't take any of your free memory away and it will automatically be deleted as new stuff is recorded.

You can disable the suggestions if you like, but there really is no need to do so. Like the deleted items, they do not eat into your recording space. Your own recordings will always take preference.

Re: TIVO box going wild on record

But the OP said he didn't set any series links for those shows that are showing. So I thought disabling suggestions would solve that issue for the OP.

Re: TIVO box going wild on record

If the same shows keep recording give them 3 thumbs down and they will stop.
