TIVO, like to see implemented

Hi all, first time post, read things here many times. so thanks for all the information that helped me.

Anyway, I would like to see an option on my Tivo, so when I switch channel, it either tells me in the bar that the HD channel for that channel is on such a channel, or press a button to switch to it, I understand why the channel cant default to the HD one.
some others would be:
option to stretch 4:3 broadcasts, like Morse on ITV3 HD. cause the tv classes the black bars as the picture, and wont stretch the actual picture.

DTS sound on films and features

I was wondering what others thought about these, and any other like to see implemented options.

That's nothing to do with TiVo - the black bars are inserted by ITV to maintain the aspect ratio on the HD channel. If you want TiVo to stretch it, watch ITV 3 SD

Don't think that's anything any UK channel broadcast, so isn't possible

Have you checked your TV's options. Some TV's will allow you to do this.

Not on HD channels they wont - as they are already 16:9

Re: TIVO, like to see implemented

removal of default buffering when recording back to back programmes on the same channel. Really, really simple yet missing on TiVo.

V+ has it, Sky has it.

Tivo Desktop. Yes, I know that the reason we don't have it is as much to do with rights as implementation but it'd be nice to have.

What would be even better is to keep the padding for both recordings and spawn two recordings from the same tuner e.g. for the period of the padding overlap use the same tuner to continue recording the end of the first programme while at the same time create a new recording and record the start of the 2nd programme.

Re: TIVO, like to see implemented

More grouping options.

Grouping recorded shows into seperate series sub folders and ordering them by show, not hard to do. Also some indication you have already watched it.

Re: TIVO, like to see implemented

What I'd really like is a way of prioritising when the same event is shown on two different channels. For instance, those F1 Grands Prix that are also shown live on BBC. I currently have series links for F1 on the beeb and on Sky Sports F1, meaning I'll have two tuners dedicated to the Chinese Grand Prix this morning until I manually alter that in a minute. Is there a way of setting up a wishlist to say "if it's available in hd record that, otherwise record that"?

Set up two separate wishlists that are identical, but add the HD sub category to one of them. Then make the one with the HD submarker the higher priority of the two.

Re: TIVO, like to see implemented

Cheers, but won't i still end up with two recordings unless I put the sd one right down the pecking order? I still want that one to pick up for the 11 races the BBC don't have.

I'd like to create my own folders, so I can separate those programmes I record for me, those for my wife, those for my grandkids and those for my wife and I to watch together. Even if we can't label them with a title ourselves, just having folder 1,2,3 etc would be good, and then being able to save to the folder of your choice.
