V+ black screens issue for channels

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a common problem, and if so what name it goes by.

A few months ago I was having issues when I would turn on my V+ HD box and find out none of the channels worked except the free ones like 101-105. There would just be a black screen.

However, channels that had red button functions, I would still see the red button icon on the screen, but no other picture, just a black screen.

This was fixed by rebooting the box, but was causing to many problems when it occurred as programs wouldn't record and in the end virgin replaced the box.

But it has just happened with my new box. Anyone know why this is happening? Or if there is a name for the issue to tell them on the phone? It's very annoying to record sport, and get ready to watch it only to realise nothing has recorded!

Many thanks.

I have experienced this too, but it usually records any programmes set to record, perhaps because it uses a different tuner

I have found that if one doesn't reboot, it often clears itself up after a few hours.

When it is doing this, VOD doesn't work either. It operates correctly until the video should play, but just shows the underlying live TV programme.

They ended up replacing my box because of it. Was happening every couple of days.
