V+ Hard Drive Access

Does anyone know if I can access & view the saved programs on my V+ Box without being attached to the cable network?

I have a hard-drive full of programs but have moved to an area that is not serviced by Virgin & want to be able to watch them.

Any advise would be gratefully received!

Re: V+ Hard Drive Access

Arguably the V+ box is not yours to own, but is only hired from VM and should be returned to them when you end a subscription. VM are often not very good at arranging to collect their kit though. Trouble is they can charge if they don't get it back which means you need to be careful how you treat the box whilst it's still with you and thus you donb't want to be fiddling with it's bits and bobs.

Unfortunately without a connection to a subscription very little of the box will work. That makes it difficult to even connect the box to the archiving scart socket to transfer stuff to another recorder.

Unhappy Re: V+ Hard Drive Access

Thanks Rob for the reply

Thats a bit of a bummer that Im not able to access it as I assumed I would be able to given it is in effect a hard drive - Virgin have said that they will send a post box for me to return it to them but I was hoping to watch the progs before it arrived

Re: V+ Hard Drive Access

Once booted it works fine on its own but in my experience it will not boot if it cannot see the network.

As above though. It does not belong to you.
