i am at present subscribing to all the virgin services but am mindfull of changing to the sky package because i cannot access the nrl aussie rugby league or the championship coverage offered by premier sports onvirgin is their any chance this situation might change in the foreseeabble future wolfie

According to reports there's every chance , I'd suggest sticking out a bit longer I'm sure Premier sports will arrive.
I have also heard prem sports is on its way. It is currently chargeable on sky but not sure what it will be on Virgin. Personally I would be happy they swap it with ESPN but doubt it will happen.
Just need prem sport to get footy show
