Clipped recordings

I have the Samsung V+ box. I'm having a minor problem in that some of my recordings are clipped short at the end, perhaps by a couple of minutes. In the V+ extras menu there is an option to pad (extend) recordings and this was set to the default of 5 min. I have tried altering this and re-saving but it has made no difference.

Have I misunderstood what this function is supposed to do? Maybe there is a fault on the box? Whilst I appreciate that this could sometimes be caused by programs overrunning, I'm fairly sure that this is not always the case.

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
