How to link my DVD recorder to the V+ box
Brand new to Virgin and can't work out which of the many cables/leads etc should be where! When I try to archive to DvD following the V+extra instructions, all I have is a snowstorm.
I asked the technician if the V+ was set up with the DVD, but I've just checked and there's no scart in the lower socket (as per some posts I've read).
Does anyone have a diagram? Sorry, I know this has been asked before!
Thanks

Oh... should have said the V+ is fine and I love it, but I want to record some stuff to DVD and it's clearly not cabled up properly... thanks

Hello and welcome!
Have you got your TV connected to the V+ through SCART or HDMI?

Yes there is a diagram.
A great diagram!
it sorted me!
Its somewhere on this forum.
Its by a poster called Ben-B and I messaged my thanks to him. V+ talks to AV2 that I remember.
Ben was, I think, going to sticky this diagram somehwere! (on the forum I hasten to add!)

It applies to all-scart setups.
It requires you to have two SCARTs on your VCR, and is therefore not applicable...

Whoops - my bad. You didn't say that there was only one scart - only that one was connected (what a donkey).
ben_b's diagram (in an all SCART setup) is EXACTLY what you need.

Re: How to link my DVD recorder to the V+ box
Thanks guys, There's something that looks like a wide strip of liquorice from the TV that plugs into the top scart socket of V+ box - is that HDMI or Scart - I don't know??
There are definitely 2 scart sockets in the back of my recorder.
I'm also new to the forum and can't find Ben's diagram, could some one help please?

A wide strip of liquorice is most likely a SCART lead. Check the plugs against the pic below...

Re: How to link my DVD recorder to the V+ box
It's definitely SCART and I'm now wired up as per Ben's diagram, but still have snow. I can play DVDs OK, but there's nothing to record... nothing on screen. Is it just me?
Virgin felt sorry for me and very kindly offered to send me a technician. How's that for service?
Again, thanks for the help

Re: How to link my DVD recorder to the V+ box
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me? I've got a V+ box and LG DVD recorder. I set it up yesterday and used the brill diagram in the above post and everything was working fine. I recorded some things on DVD and everything was good. Yesterday you could control V+ through the DVD on ext2,but today when i've switched the DVD player on it is still on ext2 but Virgin is coming through on ext1? I haven't changed anything and the wires are still where they were yesterday? I've double and triple checked them on the diagram again and they are all correct. Does anyone have any ideas as to whats going on and why Virgin is coming through ext1 and not ext2?
Hopefully this will make sense, im not the most techinal of people, in fact i dont really know what im talking about.
Thanks in advance
