Samsung V+ Box Extended Times Problem?

I seem to be having a problem with my samsung v+ box. Current settings are for recordings to start 2 mins before program and 10 mins after.
But what I am finding is that if the box is set for recording two programmes around the same time the extended times don't always apply, very often missing the end of the programme.
Anyone else noticed this problem? or perhaps the box is faulty?

Re: Samsung V+ Box Extended Times Problem?

I'm confused - how is that a fault or an issue? If padding would cause a recording clash it's dropped. Unfortunately that means that if a programme has overrun by a minute as they sometimes do on some of the bbc channels then you'd miss a bit at the end, but otherwise it would cause a clash and they wouldn't record at all.

Unless I'm missing something else with this issue?

programs aren't clashing. "tigger" explained the problem with his e.g:

eg: 1 channel 9pm-10pm and 10pm-11pm and a second channel recording at the same time as either of the recordings,

then the padding is not added.

It's more of a software glitch, perhaps there will be a firmware update in the future?

Yes, that means that there would be a clash caused by padding if the V+ left it in. 2 tuners, 3 programmes. One of the tuners will be needed to record 2 consecutive programmes while the other tuner records the other one. Therefore the tuner recording the consecutive programmes will have to drop the padding between them or else it will clash. That's not an issue, thats how the padding works.

If there were only two total programmes then the padding wouldn't drop - so if that's when it's dropping then that IS an issue - and would suggest only one tuner is recording both programmes for some reason

Don't hold your breath, the future is TiVo. So in my opinion updates will be few and far between on the old software!
