I am pleasently surprised...

Upgraded from 20Meg to 30Meg for a one off £30 activation fee (and weirdly for £2.99 a month cheaper than 20meg) a week ago. Super Hub 2 arrived today, was easy to install. The only part that annoyed me was activating it...took about 30-40 minutes on the phone!

Anyway. At first had a few troubles with it disconnecting and reconnecting but I figured that was the activation still taking place (not sure, maybe just to run it in I gave it a wack or two). Then had some problems with the default channel settings, but all sorted (for now anyway).

0.0 Actually getting the speed advertised from Virgin...and over wireless! I'm shocked! Love VM now, until it starts giving me problems (obviously it will soon). But yeah. Well done VM. +1 To you (Y)

Re: I am pleasently surprised...

If you wouldn't mind, could you download a file and tell me what speed per second it downloads at?

I ask because I am on 30mb, and over the wireless It only ever downloads at 260kb a second! but when wired I can download at almost 3mb a second.

Thanks!

I've tested today (just now) with speedtest.net and with a test file from thinkbroadband.com...speed isn't going much above 20Mbps today but that's fine because 30Mb is actually cheaper than what I was paying for 20Mb! Also there's another 2 computers on the network, one of which is folding and it's half 6 so probably a bit of congestion of both my network and at the exchange.

If you want to test yours, I recommend trying with the latest firefox and using the 512MB file from HERE (clicky click).
