Received a SCAM email?

Then forward it on to those who can do something about it

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12586742

Quote:
Millions of Britons who receive scam letters and e-mails are now being urged to forward them on just the once - to the National Fraud Authority.

The agency has launched a new operation to track down the fraudsters behind the multi-million pound industry in scam mail, but needs public input.

It wants people to forward e-mails to email@actionfraud.org.uk for analysis.

Re: Received a SCAM email??

So what are they proposing to actually do with these? Send an SAS hit squad to every internet cafe in Nigeria?

Re: Received a SCAM email??

It's all organized crime these days, no more 3 bit criminal sat in an internet cafe writing these out by hand.. Most are likely to come from Russia

Re: Received a SCAM email??

Agreed, it's not amateur stuff anymore. Just look at the quality of the fake AV clones that hit and scam so successfully.

That still leaves the problem that 'organised' crime is still a damn sight better organised than our legal systems. Can you imagine the hoops that Scotland Yard's finest would have to jump through to get anywhere with the hugely corrupt Russian police?
